No Red Bloks (but a few boxes of Therians and Karmans), but my wife is smart enough to keep receipts, so day after tomorrow, I'll go do a switchover. I'm keeping the Damocles box, however, and the FLGS actually threw in a slightly damaged copy of the rule book for free (I think they know a good PR investment when they see it).

I love the red block...I've to think of a game where I could use them... I was thinking maybe of do the remake of the "Thing" but maybe somewhere in the nearfuture in siberia....or something like Aliens in URRS...

I'm a little confused. Are AT-43 figures that much cheaper in the US than in Spain and Australia? I guess exchange rates enter into it, but here they're very close in price, with the US being about 5% cheaper, as in not really worth the effort.

It was a clearance offer in Fantasy flight web that only served to USA...so if I've to buy a new AT-43 set for 60€ or more here or pay 20$ in USA... then you see why...
Usually the prices goes cheaper in $ and then after you convert in € you get a good price (only if you could get but a good mail sending price)...but in that offer buying things for 10$ instead of 30€ was too an offer to let pass and Kane ofered to send it to us...

The Australian price for an avg. unit of men (8 in total) here is $50AUD whilst the specialist units run up too $80AUD. Kane managed to get me the $50 boxes for $15AUD.... and lots of them.

In total I spent way too much but I applied female logic and thought about all the money I saved by doing so.

I'm not quite sure what have I saved as I begun a order frenzy and was blinded by it...and now untill I don't have the box at home could not say how much I saved

Well, let me put it this way. Everything was about 60% off and I spent $250 for myself. That means I saved nearly $500! I'd have to say WELL worth it. Got a decent sized Therian army AND a full sized (every item available at the time) Dirz army as well as starters for both games and the army books.

I'm looking to spend about 300 USD on building my Red Blok army during the spring, but I have a tax bill that needs clearing first.

Put it this way I spend about $300US on items that were at 30% their RRP so I think I did a little damage there. Geez even if I don't like the game play I still have some fantastic figures that can slide right into Savage World or some form of game by Ganesh Games.

I must say I was nearly tempted to get another army too - the Apes but I checked my saves and succeed.

The only item that I really should have looked for was Doom the Boardgame and it's Expansion - for everything was on sale.

Oh, believe me, I'm not implying that anyone's being cheap by not supporting their LGS, and I'm sorry if it came across that way.

I live in a small town of about 30 000 (counting surrounding areas) and we finally got a surprisingly good game store in December. Also, being such a small town, I kind of know the guys who run it, not last since I'm now on the board of the yearly local con. But I'm still not going to pay double for anything just to help them out - not too often, anyway. But if it's a matter of 25% or so and saves my wife a lot of hassle when she goes to the US to see her kids, then I can suck it up.

I'm also in the supporting the little shops...only if there was a decent shop here for RPG-Miniatures (or even a shop that was not Gw only)... We have here 2 comic books store and I belive that I spend 50% in both because I want to have shops where go and touch before buy... But as you said that means that if something can be get cheaper (a lot cheaper...) then there's no color...

Glad it got there safely! Never did overseas shipping, so that made me a bit nervous, but all is well that ends well.

Here in Seattle proper, their is not a single game store. Their are two comic shops owned by the same company, but they are comics and comic memorobilia ONLY. The closest is about 10 miles from me, which by bus equates to 45 minutes and they only carry RPGs and some used minis. As far as a shop to play at/buy minis from, theirs a GW a few blocks from them. The only other shop/play center (Fire & Sword) is moving another 5 miles north, making it a 1 hour bus ride. I really need a car...

I really miss the days when I travel to Barcelona to go to my RPG-Comics shops to buy things I never could get in Palma... It was magic...going inside...touch the books-miniature-comics and put one over the other and select wich ones will go home with me...

Now...now I've 2 comic books stores...so that make it worth for comics...In both I try to bought the spanish version of them and in one of them I bought the ones I want in english and in the others I buy some Rpg/boardgames transtaled to spanish...

And for english rpg-miniature-boardgames-Blu-ray ...Internet is my friend... I have acces to all I want everysingle day and not have to wait for a colleague's travel or mine to buy things... but sometimes... sometimes I miss the joy of entering a shop and get wild...

No, I think warstore is trying match sales with Fantasy Flight. I mean FFG's sale must be killing everyone else in the US for AT-43 and Confrontation - better to shift the stock and make minor profit (if any) then not have that stock shift at all.

FFG had a note the first time around for stores to contact them to arrange clearance sales of their own. Just spreading the wealth! FFG still has the best prices, though.
