PAX WWG Grubmeet '08

I know of at least 5 of us WWG Fanatics who will be at PAX on Saturday, so I wanted to propose we all meet up for dinner and a beer or two. Here is my provisional suggestion. Please let me know if you plan on coming, though you are welcome to stop by regardless.

DATE: Saturday, August 30
TIME: Start about 6:30pm after the expo hall closes.
LOCATION: Elephant & Castle Pub on 5th ()
WHO: Anyone who loves WWG products and who will be hanging out at PAX '08. Significant others are welcome, but it's an English style pub so bring ID. Kids might be okay, not sure, best to call ahead by checking the website for contact info.
RSVP: Post in the poll that you will be attending, and then reply so I know who you are.

I'll try to think of some way to mark WWG territory, though I won't have time to built a fortress for us to sit in

If that's a bar and not a pub, then I won't be able to make it.. IE I'll have my Built in Gamers with me. And I'm only going on Saturday. There are some things that they are doing on Sunday I want to go to, but don't know if it's worth the ticket price.

Snizitch - Sorry to hear you won't make it on the Saturday. Perhaps I'll run into you in the expo hall on Friday afternoon.

CCotD - I guess it's a bar, but themed like a British pub. I don't know the rules in Seattle for kids in pubs, but it might well be the case that they are not allowed in the evenings or on weekends... as I know some pubs were like that in the UK. If you want to try and meet at some other point, or somewhere else, would love to do so.

Sunday there are a few presentations I want to go to, which was almost enough to tempt me... then I remembered that last year Kane picked up tons of bargains on the last day of the con, like I used to when I went to GenCon. That put me over the edge to justify the cost.

The sad thing I read, there will be no Bawls as a sponsor this year

Seriously, thats one of the best energy drinks. My FAVORITE though is Java Monster Irish. No caffeine rush. Just a nice all day energy.

As I said before, I'll be wearing my Judge Dredd t-shirt (black, but Dredd is on the front) and am fairly sure I'll be the only one... should make finding me easy enough. Kane is a giant... so if you enter a pub and see a Judge Dredd t-shirt on some bearded guy near a giant, that's us

I have never been to Dick's... never been to Fat Burger either. A name can put you off. What is Dick's like? Steak 'n' Shake? If it's that good, I'll have to try and get to one sometime.

And a baseball cap, probably have a backpack slung over one shoulder for swag. Also, since I have to pick up my tickets Friday afternoon, I'll probably be playing Mario Kart or something on my DS while I wait

Either that or reading a book, currently Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson.

Lord A - That series was actually recommended to me about 8 years ago when it first came out, back when I ran a book review website, and still lived in England. I have had book 1 sitting on my shelf for that long... but other series kept jumping ahead of it. So far, I'm really gripped, and wishing I had read it earlier.

The schedule posting was handled really badly this year. Maybe I'll offer my web services to them next year

I plan to head downtown about midday on Friday. Two years ago, it took me about an hour to queue up for tickets... this year I'm expecting up to two hours. Once I get in, I'll head to the expo hall.

Since you have already ordered your tickets, you probably want to get there as soon as they let you start picking up tickets... get the most out of the day. The biggest queue is for fools like me who didn't get around to pre-ordering

Because I ordered waaaaaaaaay early, I have my tickets so just have to sit in the line that checks them and hope that the expo hall doesn't get evacuated for fire reasons. Was so full last year at opening, they emptied it out and did head counts as people came in and out to keep it at fire code.

I take it that this convention is currently on. If any of you guys read this whilst it's still going can someone pick up "l" for me by flying frog Productions. I will paypal you the full amount + shipping when we work out what it might be. If this happens is there a chance of getting ti signed by some of the guys from the game - meant to be attending.
