It's really 2 different perspectives. But if you want to talk dollars and cents...







Buying the prepainted version i can get a dozen of them for the price of the one that needs painting.

I do like painting, but don't have a ton of time for it. if and when I paint it's usually limited to working on personalities or some specialty minis (like the Neanderthals i have in the works).

In the end the prepaints won't look as good, unless some really sucks with a brush, but I think they look a hell of a lot better than a bunch of primered miniatures fielded

P.S. I do like that Reaper orc!

Yah know...I never field unpainteds. And it never fails...The happier I am with the paint job the quicker they get slaughtered on the field:)

Soooo... following that train of thought, if you only fielded prepainted minis with (in your eyes) sucky paintjobs, you'd basically win every game with little to no losses?

I'm another who doesn't find painting worth while, or interesting. I've done it, and it looked better than clix or D&D figures. But I wasn't ever satisfied with it.

But count me as underwhelmed by the prepaints, I'm talking clix and D&D, I've never seen AT-43 in person. Its not just the painting job, I find the sculpts sub par most of the time. There are individual D&Ds I like, but mostly I use them just because they're easy and comparably cheap.

That's the thing, prepaints are wunderbar for people that don't like to paint. There's this... detestation for them among those that like to paint. Maybe we painters all have a latent fear they'll take over the pewter market and suddenly the only thing available will be floppy, bendy plastic things we have to strip and repaint. I know some are made in hard plastic but I will forever be scared by the Battlefield Evolution fried egg eye stares and the hard but pliable semi-rigid not totally like a wet noodle minis.

I don't mind pre-paints. Not everyone is good at painting, enjoys painting, or even has the time to spend painting.

For me time is everything. The older I get, the less time I seem to have.
