On a seperate note, I was trying the beta of Tabula Rasa and don't think it's a game for me. It's not just the lag that is unappealing (though it is very bad) but the game just didn't hold my interest at all. It's actually refreshing to have one game less to worry about

EDIT: I set up the Civ IV game, ran my first turn and sent it on to Kane, who I believe will need to send it to Robby, then Robby back to me.

FYI, the AI was automatically set to Noble difficulty (couldn't change it) but we are set to Warlord. Not quite sure how that is going to play out... but I guess we'll find out.

I don't know how folks with more than one kid do it. One have one, and she's enough of a handful.

I haven't tried all the leaders yet... there are a lot to choose from now, with both expansions.

I also really enjoy the scenarios...

Afterworld is very different and it's cool when you remember the system that has been modded to produce it, but I don't play this one much.

Final Frontier is amazing, and often gets played. It's not like Galactic Civilizations or Master of Orion, but it is Civ in space. Great fun.

I know Fall from Heaven (fan based) came with Beyond the Sword, but I've not tried it yet. I didn't realize a second one had been made. Any good websites you can suggest for Civ IV mods/scenarios?

Yeah, I've played a game before and went with the quick speed. A quick game solo can still take most of a day to play... once you get into the realms of Epic, it would be a lifetime to play it over PBEM.

Unfortunately, our game has grinded to a halt. Actually, it hasn't got off the ground yet, but I'm still hopeful. The problem is we all have different versions of the game

I have Civ IV, Warlods and Beyond the Sword.

Warlords was great as an expansion, but one that should still have been around $20 IMO. Beyond the Sword has loads of stuff in it, and really changes the game.

In Warlods, I do enjoy playing the barbarian scenario, and the vikings one.

I'm fine with ScrubKai joining us if we ever get going. I see that we have a couple of choices really:

1) Wait for Kane to pickup Beyond the Sword (Robby already did this)
2) Wait for Robby to spend even more money and pickup Warlords (not really fair on him, but it's worth picking up).
3) Start with the basic game

There is nothing wrong with the basic game, but I'm enjoying all the additional elements in Beyond the Sword, and would miss having them around.
