At the moment I'm having to use RPGNow to get my WWG goodness due to problems I mentioned in the "Customer Support" area.

I hope that if you guys move away from there, that the shop here can accept my orders in the future..............

If you can get on e-23, that would be awesome. I've used it several times and it works for me.

Hmmm, even Phil Reed has about the merger. And here is a man with a whole lot of experience in the PDF publishing world.

Add to this the spinoff of publishers, either to greener pasures or creating their own sites and I think that OneBookShelf is going to end up eating this one.

My prediction for the future of OBS is that it will fail to catch on and we will see it go away as an entity but RPGNow, RPGShop and DrivethroughRPG will exist as "seperate" entities until they determine which one will make the most $$ for them and close the other one down.

I'm not sure who had the higher revenue generator, but one company always emerges as the "winner" in a merger. A buyout is totally different. Last company I worked for before the dot bomb "merged" with another company and you could tell the company I worked for "won" the merger as the other companies executive staff, directors and managers were all cut. Then they started picking through the ranks of the "common folk" and ejected people from both sides of the new house.

So I see OBS as a bust but the company as a whole will continue with one of the sites being shut down (and since there are two with RPG at the beginning of the title, I think I may know who will be dumped.)

Implementation sucks. They should have created the site before announcing the merger and then when people go to the old sites they are redirected to the new site, not the other way around.

Zen ... you are so right. I had been buying stuff from RPGNow for several years. And in my mind the emphasis was on "NOW". Any time I thought "Hey, I wonder if somebody has rules for "x" off I went, because if I wanted them I wanted them NOW.

One Book Shelf? What is that?

Not trying to be flippant here, but my mental image of a single bookshelf is that it has limited amount of space. It doesn't conjure up images of, say, the cavernous space where the Ark of the Covenent is placed at the end of Raiders.

How about RPG Vault? Although I think safety when I think vault, not endless products.

Any of those would work better than OneBookShelf, and that took me what, maybe 10 seconds of thought.

And having people redirected from the new site to the old is certainly Bass Ackwards.

Hmmm, wandering around sundry gaming forums it appears that the exodus continues, And on E.N. World, where once e-publishers generally listed only RPGnow or DTRPG as the places to find their stuff, more companies are either touting another site - such as e-23 - or their own. I wish all luck on this, diving into the unknown can be a bit scary. OneBookShelf's attempt to corner the market seems to be resulting in diversification instead.
