The bureaur/office of Sheridan...I remember a lot of arguin there...I will look at the books I have from the mongoose RPG to refresh my information...

I have to revisit the serie...I would like to ear more of that project (In my school I didn't say nothing because is the best thing that one could do when don't know what to say)

Heh, I forgot to mention - the game starts just after the Earth-Minbari war, during the planning and building of Babylon Station.

The first scenario will actually use Streets of Urban Mayhem - the damaged terrain I have been building will be used for the outer area of the Ruins of San Diego.

A counterterrorism strike will be complicated by the team finding out that it is a hostage situation - from the news media already at the scene pushing a mike in the OiC's face and asking 'how do you plan to handle the hostage situation?' This is the mission that led to the first group to play it being assigned to guarding sheep on Mars...

Later the action will move to Mars (with or without sheep), and then to the construction site of Babylon Station. Some PCs may even have the bad luck of being on station when the catastrophe strikes.

Then the focus will shift ahead by a number of years to the construction of B5, where a security officer will recognize a familiar face among the engineers of the new station... a person who supposedly died when Babylon Station collapsed.

Another hiatus and the game picks up again under Commander Sinclair.

After each hiatus the characters will be given promotions/demotions and a level or two to adjust for the passage of time. Nonhuman PCs will be allowed following the second hiatus, until then all characters are human, most belonging to EarthForce.

The big thing I liked about B5 was the continuation of the story. You could see bits and pieces of their story through out the episodes. Maybe not each episode, but they would go back to different events from time to time till they had dealt with that part.

Gave the series a cohesiveness that was nice! Quite a bit of the series influenced my future space game!

Janx - Thank you, I had forgotten about crew quarters! (This is why I ask these questions...)

C&C and the Commander's Office can wait, it is not likely that they will be dealing all that much with Sinclair. Once Sheridan is in place that may change.

Sadly, except for the last episode, Season 1 does indeed suck. (I suspect that Michael O'Hare was turned down for a part on the original Thunderbirds for being to wooden...) But you will find that the first season contains clues about what is going on, and has elements that continue through the rest of the series. I missed the last episode, having largely stopped caring much about the series... when I started watching it again **Spoiler - Highlight to Read** the President was dead, the station had changed commanders, Delenn was in a cocoon, Geribaldi had been shot and was in Medbay... And I had only missed one episode!

The final two seasons suffer because JMS wasn't sure there was going to be a season 5, so stuff got crammed into season 4, then there was a season 5 so they had to stretch things out again. It was like the network was chaining Fonzie to the water skis and telling him he had to jump the shark, willingly or not.

Though there is enough good stuff in the series to argue quite happily over best episodes. And if you can find the 'Blooper' reel watch it. Some of it aren't bloopers but folks goofing around, including the special effects company. (There is one where the ships appear to be made out of cardboard, held up by string... one bounces off of the camera as it is pulled off screen. All done in CG, an awful lot of work went into emulating really bad effects!)

While Crusade had its moments there were only two really good episodes, one of which was the last. I still have not seen LotR (not Lord of the Rings...). Line from the series that get's a smirk: 'It's not attacking...'

it includes the commentary by Strazinsky as the show was in production and release. Points out many of the specific points each episode was delivering. Obviously, it contains spoilers, so read at your own peril.

I've got the full DVD box sets, which has been fun to rewatch, sans commercials and in wide screen.

While I didn't have the same reaction to season 1 as AuldGrump, it wasn't as good as seasons 2-4. But then, I look at Season 1 as ramp up akin to what happens in a nw D&D campaign. The characters don't have much real past, so you've got to have a series of "random" adventures that layout the real story for when the PCs are high enough.

For my part, out of 22 episodes in season 1, I'm planning on running 13 games (representing 1 per game month = a year in my campaign). Out of that, 10 games are based on closely matching the episodes. There are things that just don't work in a D&D game.
