Hehhehe no, you notice, i just bought the Stands, and used pre-painted plastic toys for the figures good lord no, wouldn't paint them now didn't even like it when i tried once, back in 99 to do a bunch of skeletons, spent loads of time painting them, and glueing them together... and over the past 3 years they all be busted now

Hmm. Good to know. Truth be told, I don't go to "that side" of the store very much - so I wouldn't know what they sell for GW. I just know you gots to paint them, and I suck at painting. Maybe I'll have to mosey over there and check it out.

I do have a relatively new player who could use dice, though.

Of course there are less expensive hobbies. I meant compared to "normal" hobbies.

As an example: you can have all you need for a large (around 2,000 points) GW army, painted and all, for around $500. Adding a second will cost less, since you'll already have the basic rules, and modelling gear (paints, brushes, flock); say, $400?

If you want to get into, say... restoring an old car, you're looking at a significant difference in entry price.

Or, there's exotic salt water fish. Weekend warrior motorcyclists. Firearms collecting and/or shooting. Antiques.

That's just a few examples of common hobbies. Any one of which is going to cost significantly more to pursue than any wargame, GW included.
