While he's waiting, Newton tunes his compad into the starport news and data feeds and runs a search for any information on citizen Vlen Backett of Regina/Alell, who died in Credo City.

Andros will attempt to engage the guards in conversation and see if they say anything about what is happening here. If any of the guards look to be ex-military (As seen from Tatoos, Equipment, or the uniform), and especially if any of them look like Star Marines, I'll use that as the opening for the conversation.

Tryn engages in prayer, hands clasped in front of him, head nodded forward with his eyes closed. He mouths the words of the prayer without vocalization, secure in the knowledge that the Lord can hear him.

The guards tell Andros that this is indeed unusual treatment for travellers who are just passing through, but that they are not associated with the Public Order Commission, and thus have no idea why you are receiving the special treatment.

Newton doesn't find anything too interesting, simply a short obituary of Vlen, which says that his cause of death was, at the time of the writing, unknown.

A few minutes later, four agents with POC logos on their uniforms arrive, the leader of which is a slightly paunchy man wearing a blue cap with a personal computer hanging at his side. He sports a small mustache, but is otherwise clean-shaven. This man signs an electronic chit, then extends his hand, saying Pallod Norum, Public Order Commission. Please come this way.

Yes, the guards do come. You are informed that you are going to the Regina Territorial Zone to discuss the "Delicate matter of Citizen Vlen Backett"

Andros follows along quietly thinking about the "delicate matter" and what it could mean.

Thandon follows as well, occasionally looking behind to see if anyone is following.

Inspector Norrim escorts you through a maze of corridors to a small shuttle. The shuttle detaches from the highport and crosses to another, smaller space station only a few kilometres away. Your shuttle nestles into a bay alongside several
interceptors in police livery and docks once more. A short elevator ride takes you into the heart of the Public Order Commission offices. Norrim shows you into his office – blandly functional, with a large holoportrait of Duke Norris on the wall – and sits down behind his desk. The hardwood desk is a imposing antique, and must have cost a small fortune to ship into orbit. The inspector activates a privacy seal as he addresses you.
It is the belief of the Public Order Commission that Vlen Backett was murdered. The circumstances of his death certainly suggest foul play; Backett was found in the Traveller’s Aid Hostel in Startown. He had been shot with a low-calibre projectile weapon – presumably a silenced one, as no-one heard the gunshot. He was taken to the Tan Shalve medical centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
No weapon was found at the Hostel, and the room was sprayed with an aerosol chemical solvent that destroys most forms of forensic evidence. The case is under investigation, of course, but such things take time.
Norrim pauses and taps at his personal computer for a few seconds, bringing up a document on screen.
According to the physician, tests on the blood of Vlen Backett showed a high level of Tusal, an illegal narcotic. Traces of the drug were also found on Backett’s clothing and in his luggage. His belongings were scattered across the hostel room, implying a hasty search.
The inspector looks straight at you. If you have any information pertinent to this case, now would be the time to volunteer it.

Inspector Norrim looks at you down his nose in a rather condescending fashion. I can assure you that the POC has the situation under control. Investigations are being done, but of course these things take time, and this case is a work in progress. Now are there any questions that I could answer for you?

The POC office is in Credo. The easiest way to get there is to take a shuttle to the surface.

I suppose that we should go planetside then. Do we take our comdots or leave them behind?

Andros turns around with his and faces Thandon with his back to Norrim, then rolls his eyes and points them in the direction of the Inspector as he says:

Obviously we leave them in the ship, as I believe local law does not allow them planetside.

Andros then turns back to the inspector and says
Inspector if there is nothing else, is there any requirements we should know about as we arrange to move Vlen's body and posessions?

Tryn nods, acknowledging the plan.
It would, like, be awesome if we had a chance to grab, like, some spare clothes when we go back to the ship?
