Have we decided the Skill Package yet? Tryn is still showing the Explorer package, and I haven't added a skill from the Connection with Lushenko yet. Any suggestions? The only ones that make sense from a character background perspective would be more Pilot (small craft,) more Vacc Suit, more ZeroG Combat, or maybe engineering. But if we need something else, Tryn has the option of taking it...

Lushenko’s official history:
Newton Lushenko grew up in the worker estates of a corporate controlled industrial world with no atmosphere. A little below average height, with unremarkable features, Lushenko (as he prefers to be called) always did unexpectedly well at exams. He graduated top in his school for physical science and his parents were delighted when he was promptly recruited to work off-world as a junior researcher on a well respected corporate research team.

Lushenko stayed with the research team for a couple of years before being tempted away to work for a competing organization. He managed this transition with such integrity that he was soon granted clearance to work on high-security projects, and this reputation and associated security access have moved with him wherever he’s worked subsequently.

Lushenko was working on a recently colonised world when a dangerous new virus epidemic broke out. He was instantly recruited to help the team work seeking a cure for the virus, and the success of his work in a field outside his original training gave him to confidence to apply his research and analytical skills in progressively more diverse fields. Not one to stay in one place for too long, Lushneko’s impeccable security clearance and reliable work has made him a useful analyst and middle manager on confidential projects. While not particularly memorable socially, Lushenko has nevertheless maintained a range of contacts from the different fields in which he has worked.

Lushenko is currently taking an extended sabbatical; using this time to travel, often on the Scout ship in which he holds a share (an unusual but not unprecedented arrangement). He supplements his funds by taking whatever short term work attracts his interest.

The confidential story
Lushenko is an experienced spy (5 terms) with a talent for being inconspicuous and for saying things in ways others believe. He travels light, relying mostly on his wits and the occasional assistance of his different connections (which he keeps fresh by performing the odd favour for them every now and then). He values deception over force and always likes to keep a few backdoors open. He maintains a collection of false identities and has an unnerving knack for discovering other people's secrets, but keeps whatever he learns close to his chest.

Lusehnko’s first term, as a plant in a competitor's research team, was nearly a complete disaster. But he got lucky and managed to get out with his cover intact. Rather than censuring him for the mission failure, his bosses promoted him to Agent for the resourcefulness he'd shown in difficult circumstances.

During his second term, Lushenko was assigned to infiltrate research teams on a group of newly colonised worlds. Seeing how close he'd come to disaster in his first term, Lushenko worked especially hard to ensure these assignments were successful. However, it was pure luck that he was on hand when a new and dangerous alien virus strain broke out on one of these planets. Although his work to date had been in the physical sciences, the desperate need for research staff meant he was instantly recruited to assist the team seeking a cure for the virus. Two people from that team subsequently became long term friends: Andros McKendric, the Marine Force Commander who managed communications during the outbreak; and Thandon, a Scout whose work was instrumental in creating a vaccine for the virus. Lushenko managed to leave with a large amount of valuable research data from the team, and this combined with the results he obtained from his other assignments lead to his promotion to full Field Agent.

Lushenko’s third term was a deep cover role in a criminal cartel. As preparation for this Lushenko was fitted with implants giving him a limited ability to alter his appearance (+1 Deception) and enhancing his Dexterity (+1). He established such strong ties within the cartel that he still considers them good Allies.

Fourth term, Lushenko was retrospectively promoted to Field Agent grade 2 for his work within the cartel and immediately sent undercover again, this time on a secret mission reporting directly to the Head of his Intelligence section. His investigations took him to a range of systems, and he spent a sizeable part of the investigation in the inner worlds. These travels were conducted in secret using specially arranged couriers or scout ships for transport, and he established a lasting friendship with Senior Scout Grainger, his Pilot for much of his travel among the inner worlds.

The work he'd done the previous term culminated, in his fifth term, in Lushenko uncovering a major conspiracy within his own organization. He was immediately promoted to Special Agent and placed into his own organization to identify and clear out all the conspirators. At the successful completion of this process he was promoted again, this time into the newly vacated Assistant Director’s chair. Realizing that he was starting to go soft [failed aging roll] and preferring field work, he convinced his bosses he was burned-out after working too long undercover (over 10 years without a break) and was granted an indefinite leave of absence. Lushenko’s bosses would still like to have him back (he still does the occasional freelance job for them) and they check up on him from time to time (he never takes jobs that will harm their corporation for that reason).

While planning his exit from the corporation, Lushenko learnt that his friend Grainger was working to thwart a bootleg cybernetics operation being run by one of his employers’ major competitors, Gram. Seeing an ideal opportunity, Lushenko arranged for his employers to assist with the operation, supplying Grainger with intelligence, field support and some discrete upgrades to Grainger’s scout ship. Working closely together, Lushenko and Grainger used some of the credit this established with the Scout Service to get the upgraded ship assigned permanently to Grainger, and an ownership share in the ship granted to Lushenko (an arrangement used occasionally by the Scout Service). Around that same time, Lushenko also recruited Tryn Becerra, whom he’d helped defect from a reclusive religious society, as an additional crew member for the ship.

Lushenko will take Diplomat 1 (fits perfectly with his background)

Just so you all aren't waiting for me, and I'm not going to be able to log on for almost 24 hours.
Andros would take either: Pilot (Small Craft) or sensors if Grainger wants the pilot skill.
(Pilot form his time as a mechanic (shuttle jocky) in the Marine's or sensors due to his long work in Comms.

Just a heads up, I may be MIA for a few days over the next couple weeks. My access to the Internet is going to be spotty for that time due to some construction that we have planned.
