But ... Duct taped it back on ... good enough while awaiting repair.

Sorry to hear that Delta. It's been a few years since my last parking scrape, but I sure felt like a gump when I did it.

Yep, I just can't believe I did that ... they want $200 and change for the mirror and more to paint it to match the car. I'm not having it painted. I figure it'll make it easier to spot my car when out shopping. I really don't use the car that much anyway.

Now you know why I look for 'break away mirrors' on cars I buy now =)

I ripped the mirror off my mom's New Yorker 13 years ago so I know what you mean... CRUNCH there it is; dangeling by the adjustment cable

I've got to think about just what kind of transportation I really need and look for some options. I've been putting it off. About the only thing I like to drive anymore is the golf cart. It's just my speed ... no trouble with clearances either.

Many years ago I was working in a cemetery, mowing the top of one of the crypts. I didn't notice how close I was to the front of the crypt, and stepped off, grabbing the handle of the mower as I stepped into space....

I swear, the fastest thinking that I ever did was going 'what the HELL?! am I doing?', and pushing the mower rather than pulling it down after me.... A 10' drop was bad enough, having a running mower come down on top of me....

Sorry to hear about the vandalism, Zen. Don't blame you for thinking of a flame thrower ... I'd be in one heck of a rage.

I can't say I've ever ripped a mirror off a car myself but damn have I seen it done a lot. Best part is it always happens right when you don't want it to. Not like you ever do or anything but, always, always when you want it to the least and then it taunts you by hanging on by that darned cable. Even better is when it happens to the folding ones. I mean really, REALLY!?
