For a sound app, I've been pretty happy with Benjamin Loomes' But I do wish it had a series of buttons that allowed me to trigger even more of default sounds one time each.

I would love to see that tool (or something close to it) ported over to a mobile phone.

I second the interaction with the DDI stuff (though I'm still in 3.customized). I've been running games off my laptop and a projector while we finish the gaming room. I've been opening everything I need in a tabbed browser except for maps and notepad. I do have a "PC" now to round out the group, and she's on a separate sheet. I don't know if any of this info helps with ideas or not.

Actually, a journal type thing would be nice. It could be something that you could add notes and photos to. It would also be great to drop or link npc's in it as well.

You could wet your whistle with an initiative Roller. Tracking initiative from round to round is a pain in the butt.

well, I believe Palm apps are written in C, right? The program could definitely be ported (Android can do everything the older Palms could do, no problem), but the 'port' would basically be a bottom-up rebuild. So you're talking about development from the point of concept (95% of the work happens after that point). If your app is really great, then go for it. A good concept transcends the code.

*On the other hand, an iPhone developer might want to take it on, since porting the code into Objective C would, I believe, be very doable.

A Taunt-o-matic! (no player should be without one)

If you extract the taunts you'll find that not all of them work, and many may not necessarily fit with how the player in queston does stuff. So... get the player fill in specifics about their characters. Like weapon type Hammer, Axe, Sword, Arrow\Bolt. Personality... Funny to Serious sliding scale. Character's class, and Cleric's God. Also, some taunts are for the start of the fight, some are for during a fight, some are for killing epitaths.

It couldn't hurt to have the ability to have taunts from the bad guys... like, character class necormancer... "First I will kill you... " Race can also be a useful factor... Revenant's are undead... also a monster class.


So, have an app that randomly generates 1 before taunt, 2 during, and 3 killing taunts every time the user shakes the phone. Its up to the player to figure out how to role play that.


Start Of Fight:

Sounds awesome. I actually have a part by part automatic phrase generator made. This would be a different approach and I like it. I'm making progress on my current application and i hope to launch it soon. Then I will definitely work on this.

Which brings you to the need for a random bits of information app. Describing a location, in doors, out doors, or a room. You might go the Rory Story Cube route and just put out words and let the DM choose how its used. (Hmmm... you could sell lots of cheap apps, like, $1 for the abandoned dungeon app, and $1 for the working town app, etc.)

Names preferably without all kinds of settings. 'cause even peasents have names.
