Hey folks. My minis collection is getting (ha ha...getting) out of hand so I need something more stable and secure than...well, shoe boxes. I've looked at the FuzzBox and ArmyTransport by Sabol as well as a few others. I came accross a new one (to me) called and am very impressed. For about the same cost as Sabols foam, I can get pre-cut figure slots with a rigid cardboard carrying case that also fits into a rigid plastic supported cloth slip cover/bag. Their prices even include air-mail from the UK to the US. Have read lots of good reviews so far, but I thought I'd ask the folks here if anyone was familiar with them.

And I know Grump likes gun cases, but I use mostly plastic minis and they scream for cut-outs. Two sides of foam sandwiching could too easily break them.

Have you looked at ? I haven't bit the bullet on it but I really like it - it's the price factor for me (Shipping and all that jazz) plus I have only just gotten (sort of) back into painting.

I'm poor, so I made my own. I had a Sabol Motor Pool case that I previously purchased so I made some trays to put into it. I picked up some foam sheets from a craft store and cut them to size, which is easier said than done. They hang a bit over the edge of the supporting base. I use them for Flames of War, so I figured out what was going in where, measured out their bases and chopped out the pieces. It works pretty well and only cost me less than ten dollars for 4 trays.

The GW cases belong to the kids. They had removed their mini's and I needed something quick and as I stated, the metal toolboxes are not working out as I had hoped. But they are extremely heavy. I'll probably continue to use them for AT-43 and Conf (since the figures are actually in there), but once I have my workshop up and running, I'll be using a drill press and fornster bits to drill out some 1/8" MDF glued to sheet metal, glued to 3mm foam core. (See my blog for a sort of early look).

I'll then be putting holes in the center and running them through some lengthy bolts to keep the trays separated.

Magnets in the bases of the minis will keep them on the boards. The boards are two fold in that they fit into the display case I have for them.

Just to let you know, Kane - I use a lot of multipart plastic minis, mostly GW, and the pistol cases have no problem with them.

The only figures that I would not trust to them are the really big figures, like dragons, or my favorite Ral Partha and Reaper hill giants.

the clearish/white flat stackable tackleboxes from walmart with the customizable compartments work great: they come in alot of sizes and are very tough, and easy to store.



anyhow they are dirt cheap ( couple of dollars) and with a lil bit of felt or thin soft foam in the bottom they are a fantastic and affordable way to store massive amounts of minitures.

you can even have a seperate one for each team, group, or genre of mini, label the spine and store them like books on a shelf.....during your games when the players bump into something scary , just reach for your "undead box" and pull out the bad guys ^^

they also work great for storeing all your supplies too...bits, brushes, glues, basing materials etc.

For prepainted plastcs, maybe.

However for anything else they are a great way to ruin your miniatures. No protection, figures rubbing against the case and each other, and being bounced around.

Well, I bit the bullet today and ordered one case with 6 half trays. 3 of the large pre-cut slots and 3 smaller pre-cut slots. Figure that will be good for general skirmish gaming and for carrying armies once I add a couple more. The exchange rate sucks, so it was $41, but that DOES include international shipping. Considering that will hold 228 minis of varying sizes, I'd say its not a bad deal at all. Will post my impressions when I get it and will be sure to bring it to the next game day at CCotDs place!

Please yes ! give opinion has I've a lot of plastic pre-painted figures and Want to try to get them organized so I find the ones I need when I need and don't spend tooo much time ing them between all the boxes where they're now !

Shogo, all those Confrontation and AT-43 miniatures I bought are still in their original boxes because I had nowhere else to store them. Planning on getting enough for all of them so they have a nice home. Of course, I'll have to order one case every month or two for the next several months, but it will be worth it to cut down the clutter of all those retail packages!
