Hey, just getting back into 40K myself. For the smoke launcher, the official one is a series of three tubes. Should be part of the default kit. However, it is not included with the Attack on Black Reach box. Here's a pic of the official one.


Armor plates, just put extra plates wherever you think looks appropriate. Look at the ironclad dreadnought for inspiration there.
An HK missile looks a lot like a tiny little cruise missile in a housing like you would see if it were mounted to any other vehicle. Try . I would shoulder mount it personally.

As far as original bits, I believe the rule for official tournaments is 25% GW manufactured, but don't quote me on that. I have also heard 50%.

Try googling "PaperHammer" - from that you will find patterns (not textured) for building 40K stuff in cardstock. Grab them then look at the Dread' and mod the size of the pattern to be slightly bigger than the area that you are looking to add-on. Using your Plastic Card you now have templates to work off.
