They actually managed to introduce lots of characters and keep it entertaining.

I'd been waiting to see the movie since it was announced back in 2006 and had stock in it through HSX for about the same amount of time.

I was very impressed with the film and can't wait to see what JJ and Co do with the next one.

This was the best Star Trek movie yet.

I'm going to qualify that statement: Shatner, Nimoy and Kelley are irreplaceable, and I love the characters, but most of the original series and most of that cast's movies are full of stank. Clumsy writing and acting dogged Trek every step of the way, with those soaring, glorious moments few and far between.

The new ensemble can't match the chemistry of their predecessors yet, and this new tale felt rushed (as well as exciting). But Abrams' Trek is great. It's like they left out all the awkward suckiness that filled the previous films, while fearlessly forging a new universe.

Abrams did, of course, shovel in a bunch of . That's okay by me, I guess.

My wife, a huuuuuuge Shatner fan, loved the new film, and insists on the Blu-ray.
