Chunky Dungeons 1"

Chunky Dungeons incorporates WorldWorks the "Pro Masterboard TM" design. The 'Pro Masterboard' design allows you to "build as you play" only laying out walls and ground tiles as your players see them. Using the techniques described in detail within Chunky Dungeons you can literally flip your design upside down and not a single corridor or floor tile will move out of place!

With a surprisingly simple and speedy building process you’ll be constructing incredible curved dungeons with ease. From a castle towers, dungeon wells or to the most mind-bending of curvy rooms and corridors the possibilities are truly endless!

I'm a newbie to card craft, and was looking for scenery to bring my D&D4.0 and Descent games to life.

I've only built a couple of different items from this set so far, but my initial impressions is that this is a very accessible set for beginners. The designs are very easy to follow, and WWG have done a very good job with the instructions and tutorial videos. Straight-forward but gets you enthusiastic to build more.

I'll give this set a 4, with a possible upgrade to 5 once I've built some of the different pieces. But if you're a newbie like I am - start here! You get to learn and put your finished pieces straight into action!!

You know, this is a great looking set but, unlike the reviewers for Chunky Dungeons 1.5inch, I just haven't got enough of this built to make it work.
- I think I've been spoilt by sets like GothicWorks that can get great dungeoneering scenes to the table much faster, and find I'm spending my time on those instead.

At some stage I want to come back and build enough to get going properly with this, as it really should reward the extra effort.

So, my initial rating:
Usefulness: 2 - I use some of these bits occasionally, but I need to build a heap more before I can use them on their own and realise their true potential
Looks: 5 - this is a good looking set that conveys that sense of dungeon solidity really well
Construction: 3 - So far I've this a bit too slow going
Extensibility: 5 - this is an incredibly versatile set (like I said, I just need to get enough built to get started)
Overall: 3 - this set looks like it rewards more patience that I have to give it right now.

I may come back and re-review this one day when I get some more built - until then a few other sets that are calling me.
