The folks at Reaper Miniatures have said several times that the new prices were unsustainable in regards to metal miniatures. The market has been showing this to be true - sales have dropped with each increase in price.
The tin prices have finally started dropping, and hopefully stabilizing. (Tin has been volatile for the past year or so.) A few weeks ago Reaper decided to try a price drop on new releases, between 0.50 and 1.50 for human sized minis. Still pricier than I like, but definitely a change for the better.
