Went looking for some SWAT miniatures, and ran across Not what I was looking for, and I already knew that they existed, but $25 for five prepainted minis complete with D20s is not too bad. A friend of mine purchased one of their samurai sets, while I can do a better job of painting they are decent for the money.

I like painting minis, so these really aren't for me, but enough other folks have voiced a lack of enthusiasm for taking brush in hand, so....

I have the aliens and the street gang, and while the painting isn't superb, it certainly saved me a bunch of time. I don't like the glossy finish on them, but that's a personal taste.

FYI, if you order the sets direct from EM4 Miniatures in the UK (before being packaged with the dice) you can get the aliens for only 5 pounds since they are/were being cleared out. Also, they have repainted some of these sets... and have more options to.

Pre-painted zombies would be superb. I need to get on ebay and buy up the Horrorclix range as they have quite a few zombies now. A quick rebasing and you'd be set... although you can never have enough variety, so it's probably best to pick up a few of each and add a little repainting to some of them for variety. I picked up 3 each of those top four poses for cheap when they first came out. HOWEVER, while not a scale Nazi I'm not bit on having figures that are too out of scale playing with others. Those figs are all quite a bit taller than they should be for 28mm gaming. I believe they ranged from 32-34mm tall.

A guy on TMP said the same thing, and he essentially took them and snipped off their arms and legs near the torso, then snipped off a bit and then pinned them back into place, thus lowering their overall height and shortening their arms. A little touch-up paint and he said they were good to go.

I haven't done that yet to mine, but it seems like a good and not to difficult thing to do.

I haven't picked up any of those other poses. I only knew of two of them, so they must have out a new expansion now that adds a couple more. Guess I better check out ebay.

That's a good idea about shortening their heights. I'm not sure I could do a good job with that, but I might try if they look really bad. I'm not too fussy about a little variance but 4-6mm extra in height does seem a little much... especially if you use hunters from someone like Hasslefree.

There is a new expansion coming at the end of this month. I believe there is also a Pod Zombie, but I couldn't find a good image of it.

Sorry if I missed this but has anyone tried glueing these clixs models to 20 or 25mm bases?

da bank ... not yet. I have a small collection of the zombies, removed from the clix bases, and in my modeling pile. I don't think straight super glue will work though. From those who have done the arm and leg amputation and then reattachment, the limbs need to be pinned back in place so the super glue has some metal to really get a good grip on. I would think they will need to be pinned to the base for the same reason.

robby ... NOW you tell me. Actually they were not too much trouble, but I used a very sharp knife. I still cut off a bit of one foot though. Freezing sounds like it makes it easier ... I'll try that with my next batch.

Speaking of which, I'm off to ebay to see about those newer zombie poses and prices.

I've been freezing heroclix figures for ages after a friend gave me the tip. It is a great tip, so I'm sorry for not sharing it earlier... I just kind of assumed everyone else knew

You are right about the new zombies... they are not actually released until Wednesday, Jan 31, so will take a little while to get cheaper.

I purchased the Mageknight Dungeon stuff when it came out. Have a complete set of everything with extras. I really liked the concept. You set up a dungeon, and players enter with their warband from different corners, and the other players control the critters "you" face. The critter tokens are just tokens until spotted, at which point they are revealed and monsters are placed.

Great concept. And the few games I played with a buddy were quite fun.

And then I discovered (a) I was an old man and my eyes were unable to really make out the numbers on those microscopic dials, and (b) I was stupid.

Now, the first was not a huge problem. I just had to keep picking up the figures and reading the dial and then putting it back. But the second there is no cure for. I've been playing games since I was 12 so that's 36 years now, but I just couldn't seem to grasp that powers change as the characters took damage. There are all these color-coded powers and the colors change when you take damage. So I would get it into my mind that I could do something, and then by the time I was in a position to do it I could no longer do so. Of course, I didn't realize that until I reached for my dice and my friends would say "Steve, what are you doing?"

I guess I'm just used to games where you might do less of a thing, but you can still do that thing. Play a naval game and field the Bismarck, and you have four turrets each with 2 guns. A mighty broadside of 8! If you take a hit and lose a turret, okay, you can still fire with 6. Not as many, buit they are just as powerful.

So my DungeonClix remain in their nifty carrying case. I should sell them all but I'm too lazy to list them, and doubt I could sell it as one big set. And I've been turned off of all remaining Clix games ever since.

And those dials are really hard to turn unless you really grab the mini and twist. I broke off a mini while trying to turn a Clix just a few weeks ago. Now, it was a zombie, and I wanted to break it free, but still, the mini gave BEFORE the dial turned. YIKERS!

bayushi ... shipping to Spain would probably be way too expensive to even consider it.

I just did an inventory and counting all the minis (current single figure replacement costs) and all the expansions I bought (all the board tile expansions, plus the traps and other resin/plastic 3D accessories), plus the terrific large case in which everything is perfectly organized, the whole lot comes to about $475. That includes the fact I bought two of every Hero figure (because multiple players might want to field the same figure, I thought having two of each was reasonable).

I would knock $200 off and sell it for $275 plus shipping, but it weighs a LOT. I have a fishing tackle box that everything is packed into (it's a large hard plastic case, with a top lid that can hold lots of stuff in various compartments, and fold-down access on the front to gain access to the main compartment, in which are stored three pull-out separate divider trays for the minis). I'll have to weigh it in the morning and see how heavy it really is.

Shipping it even here in the states would be quite costly, can't imagine what it would be to ship it over seas.
