I got tired of the various methods my group was using to keep track of conditions in 4th Edition. The graphic designer inside me took over and said, "SCREW THIS!"

So I made some condition cards. They're meant to be slid into plastic sleeves so that you can write on them with dry erase markers.

I realize they're not kosher due to my use of the D&D logo -- but I don't know how strict Wizards tends to be. If they ask me to remove it, I absolutely will. I also don't know what WorldWorksGames' stance is on this sort of thing. If I come back later and this post has been modified, I'll understand.

Anyhoo, I'd love any and all feedback!




We used them in yesterday's game. THEY WERE AWESOME. Unfortunately, I didn't get any in-game shots of the cards in use; I took some pictures today so people could see what they ended up looking like. Of special interest might be the pictures of the custom class power cards...

These are great! I will be putting a set together as soon as I get some new cardstock. They will certainly come in handy explaining how the conditions affect the characters to my girls.

This is the sort of thing that should be included in the game, or at least be available as a download off the website. Any chance of WWG using the GSL to sell these under license from WOTC?

Really, though, the only skills that were necessary were those related to knowing InDesign. And maybe little bit of graphic design pizzaz.



But really, anyone can do the same thing in Microsoft Word without all the graphical glit and glam.

Heck, a DM could even just have blank sheets inserted into the sleeves and write on them with a dry erase pen as the effects occur; certainly, this would be the "DM on a Dime" way of doing things and would be just as effective.



PS: Did I mention that I keep character cards in specially designed boxes?

You should make some more of the custom graphics. Some that come to mind are plant-based (for the Druids and Wardens) and leather (for the Rogues and Rangers). Also, it seems as though you have ones that work for fire, ice, water and acid/poison. It would be good to go with lightning as well.

As for the text aspect, is there a way that I could get the files and see if I could mess with them? Who knows, maybe I can figure it out to the point that I can just modify the text and make my own.
