Post subject: | Traveller Play By Post Character Creation Thread |
As promised, here is the create a character thread for the Traveller Play by Post Game. Participants: Impala ghalgor02 Solospirit ScrubKai [Does not own rulebook] Zenguy [does not own rulebook] Folks, please create your characters! Guidelines: Background Skills - Pick any from the core book, but you must choose what type of world you come from - if you come from an asteroid, then you need to say that somewhere on your character. Careers - Any from the core book and any supplement. 5 term limit. Equipment - Anything from the core book. 2000Cr limit total. No energy weapons. No fusion guns. No plasma guns. Must be of a reasonable tech level for the homeworld that your character comes from. Skill Package - We will do this after everyone has a character, so just leave it for now. Alright, so Zenguy and Scrubkai do not own the rulebook, so they'll need some help with character creation. Perhaps you guys could arrange something over Skype with one of the people who does have the book? I'll leave that to you, but if you're really stuck, I could make a character for you. I think that's everything! Post your completed characters below. If you have any questions feel free to ask. This assignment will be due on Monday ![]() Peace, Matthew |

Yes, that should be a good combo. Ghalgor - thanks for posting your character. Please think of a backstory for your character and post when done. Solospirit - please post your character. Also, remember that Zenguy and Scrubkai are going to need help with creating their characters. So if you two are done perhaps you could help them out. ![]() |

With Solo's help, rolled up a character and, in true Traveller fashion, aimed for one sort of character (geeky techno spy) and ended up with another (live-by-his-wits undercover agent) - fortunately, this guy will probably be even more fun to play. (Really liked the event roll each term; it added to the creation fun and provides some marvellous back story.) One thing, this character seems to have ended up with a surprisingly high level of skills (at least compared with CT), mainly due to four successful advancement rolls in five terms, and one promotion from an ‘event’, which seems to raise the number of skills to 2-3/term. Does this seem about right? Introducing, Newton Lushenko 38 (history to follow) Str: 7-1=6 Dex: 8 End: 8 Int: 11+1=12 (mod =+2) Edu: 10 (mod =+1) Soc: 6 Homeworld: Vacuum, Industrial 5 terms as a Corporate Agent (2 of these in Intelligence), finishing as Assistant Director (rank 5) Skills: Admin 0, Computer 0, Deception 4+1(augmented)=5, Drive (wheeled) 0, Engineer 0, Gun Cbt (energy pistol) 1, Gun Cbt (Slug pistol) 2, Investigate 2, Jack o Trades 1, Persuade 2, Recon 0, Stealth 2, Streetwise 1, Trade 0, Vacc Suit 0 Mustering out: +1 Int, 2 Ship Shares, Weapon (Body Pistol), Augmented for +1 Deception, TAS membership, Cr 59,500 Aging: -1 Str ]Edit: corrected Persuasion level to 2 (miscounted first time around) |

That's up to you. Feel free to pick either. You guys *will* need a ship, so having the scout ship would be useful... but if you'd rather have a different type of ship, then feel free to go with the ship shares. That said, I would probably take the scout ship. ![]() |

Type S Scout ship...deckplans free here Looks like it would work for us. Darn if I am not looking to see if I could make it...lol...only scale that would work is if one square is 3 inch ...I think 1 square to 1 inch is too small likewise 1 to 2 inch Scale on the map is 1 square is 1.5 meter |
