My in-laws will be celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, and I went and volunteered to create invitations for the party we're throwing. I found a pattern I liked online, and was able to trace it in the studio software. It's a complicated pattern with lots of little bits cut out. To get the cuts lined up with the invitation text I needed to print, I resorted to kitbashing a page out of Thoumont's! It made it really easy to create an 8.5x11 image to print, and also one to import into the studio software to perfectly line up the cuts. I was able to crank out the cardstock with invitation message printed on it, then feed it through the cutter in no time. I don't know how I'd make 50 cards without it! So, if you've got a spouse who may not be totally on-board with you honing your papercrafting skills, or not wanting to invest in a robocutter, I say here's an example of how you can spin it to be a real investment for your whole family. ![]() |

Be careful. Next thing you know you will be scrapbooking and watching QVC. ![]() That sounds like a good idea to use the robocutter. I have thought that it could be used to crank out multiple identical gears that could be stacked to get the thickness needed for things like paper clocks and such. |
