Post subject: | No more ink is produced for my printer! |
Background: I own a PopEgg, a printer that connects to my Japanese PS2. It's a printer so rudimentary that I think my electric shaver has more brains. Still, I enjoy it from time to time as it can actually print out images from certain games. It satisfies my inner geek. Anyway, my horde of ink cartridges is coming to an end, and I've scoured Japan and contacted Sony and apparently I was the last person to even own a working PopEgg. So, I'm thinking of taking my pin vise to the top of a cartridge and experimenting with ink. Sound crazy? Perhaps. But I have a couple plusses for me: 1. The ink cartrdige does NOT have any electronics of any kind. It's about as hightech as a felt-tip marker. 2. I have nothing to lose, but may have a mess to clean up... Big issue? One, that I can think: 1. I have NO idea what kind of ink is closest to the kind that Sony uses (Canon? Brother? HP?). Refillable solutions exist for all of the above in Japan, but I'm assuming formulation makes quite a bit of difference... Unfortunately, Sony does NOT have a refillable solution... Any ideas? Well, the question will be put to the test within the next couple of weeks as the last two ink cartridges in Japan are winging their way to me as we speak! (Like my rhyme?) |

ll I can say is, remember the inks are not red, yellow and blue! They (should be) Cyan, magenta, yellow and black. if you have a pile of empty's try art store inks. |
