Seems like this would be half the battle...being able to draw circuit traces on paper and cardstock...with a PEN! This might have an awful lot of applications for us....as well as lighting, how about powering a small motor for animating parts of the build? Could be lot of fun, as well as serious applications for this...wonder how far from market it is ![]() |

I saw this earlier. Definitely seems cool, but it also seems like I have heard about something like this before. |

This isn't anything new. If anything its a step backwards. Since the early nineties a lot of companies have been working on printing circuit boards, etc. You can imagine my surprise (in 1998) when I tried to solder an electronic robot to a NORTEL telephone only to discover that the mass produced phone had a cellophane circuit board. No problem... I went to the electronics supply store and bought conductive epoxy, and simply glued it together. Probably the real issues they face with this kind of technology is getting 'wires' that can bend. Seriously... bend that paper and see how many shorts appear. I'm an electrical engineer, and by far the vast majority of issues we face are connector problems. (This is the real reason engineers have no hair.) Once company I was at sold a harsh environment connector for $25,000... each. |
