So, Borders had a 40% Off coupon this weekend. And I used mine to buy the new Shadowfell boxed set. Normally, I don't buy much WotC product. The Compendium and a D&D Insider sub are all I really need to play, and the occasional 3PP adventure. I'd rather spend my money on miniatures and WWG printouts. But this seemed like something that would be fun and useful. As it turns out, it looks like it will be VERY fun and useful. The production quality is high, and it really evokes the "land of the dead" feel. I would have preferred a 2-sided tactical map instead of a whole-city map on the backside, but I can't have everything. I give it a Punkrabbit Two Ears Up! |

Yes... The last two products (Heroes of Shadow and Shadowfell) have finally been up to snuff. They've put a lot of effort into story and material so that its usable. I dare say that I put it on the same quality as Freeport. Downside... its gloomy. (But you could just use it for visits, maybe receive aid from a bad guy in the gloom wrought. Lots of good story to use.) |

Interesting that you don't buy much. I find my gaming experience grows with each new 3.x manual I get. But I could see reaching a point where I had enough (but with only about a dozen manuals I'm not there yet ![]() |
