All of my hobby supplies live in a cabinet. My paints are stored in a couple of boxes that come out when I need them. I work at the dining room table. My daylight lamp was a gift from my parents.

Well dont be offendet but thats just interesting but not very informative in the sense that i am searching for sollutions like pics of selfbuild ppaint racks and similar stuff. Are you satisfied with your lamp? do you know by any chance how much it costs?

Someone made a really cool paint rack using arena works walls. I've built racks for things using foamcore a bunch of times.

I only build WW stuff, its been years since I tried painting any figures.

My work area is a drafting table. You wouldn't believe how messy my it is. I've added shelves, drawer bins, organizers and still almost every inch of my desk is covered in stuff.

I really like my light, but I don't know what it is. Is just a little desk light on a straight bar, not one of the drafting lamps with a bunch of different joints. What I really like is that its a very tiny bulb and shade even though its really pretty bright. I think the light and shade together are smaller than a normal incandescent bulb. So I can tilt it close to the table without it blocking my view. Its very hot though. It was just left in my house by the previous people though, so I've no idea where to buy one.

I also use the Arena Works paint rack, and would have recommended it if I hadn't been beaten to it - works like a charm. Print out as much as you need, print more when you get more paint. is the original article by Sir Didymus.

For light I use two draftsman's lamps, one with an incandescent bulb, the other is florescent, with a magnifier. I don't paint while looking through the magnifier, but I do use it to check my paint job. The thing to look at when picking a light is 'under what lighting will this miniature be viewed under?' While a daylight lamp may look better, when you game under a florescent the colors can look a trifle bleached. I find using both incandescent and florescent to be a good compromise.

When not on the rack my paints are bunged into a small sports bag.

Very interesting argument on the light there. i dont have a glas display in which my minis stand they are mmostly for usage or some are going to friends desks as presents...hmmm *rethinking*

and the arena works stuff looks nice. maybe the best alternative right now. do you know the sizve of that elements by any chance?

I have a modular desk straight piece, with a hutch on top that I use for my hobby station. Underneath the hutch I've mounted a fluorescent lamp for my primary light source, I also have a magnifying work light attached to the side of the desk. As far as paint storage, I built myself a vertical rack from a design I saw in a Model Railroader magazine, but am considering designing something new using that one as inspiration because I've got some new paints so I don't have enough room to store all of my paint now.

I took some pictures but they don't show the desk very well and really don't show the rack, but you should be able to see it anyway. Need to get a close up picture of it before I finally get rid of it after building my new one.

Ignore the sloppiness of the desk, I hadn't straightened it up in a while!

Don't remember the prices of things, needless to say, the desk was the most expensive, around $100 for each piece, lamp was about $20, magnalamp was about $30 and the paint rack was very cheap, about $10 in total parts.

And don`t worry the reason for me to think about organisation is that my desk looks the same! actually i am also considering to repaint my old heroquest stuff which you braught back to my mind with the hq minis on your desk. i love the game but having played pen and paper rpgs and table top games makes the game mechaniks of heroquest kind of boring. its still one of the prettiest boardgames...

I've actually been cutting the HQ figures off of their bases, I don't play the game, never got into it but like the figs, and gluing them to 1 inch bases to bring them in line with the fig size I normally use!

I bought a box of bases from this company if interested. .
