Well, I saw the midnight showing of On Stranger Tides.
Not much to do with the book, but was in fact far enough off that it can be considered something completely different that had a few points of similarity.
Exactly one (1) trustworthy person in the entire film.
Motivations that are not what they seem.
A moment of redemption for Jack, but don't blink, it really is just a moment.
The mermaids are worth the price of admission all by themselves. The best representation of the species that I have ever seen on film.
And Blackbeard is Evil.
Magic continues to be rare, but very powerful.
The movie beat both Dylan Dog and Thor without breaking a sweat.
Hopefully I have not given away too much.

Bummer. That was definitely the most interesting looking new movie to me.
