Dylan Dog gets maybe a 4 out of 10 - not great, but some high points.
For me the best part is Borelli - a vampire that Dylan labels as 'Batshit Crazy'. It seems Borelli has a habit of marrying mortal women. Thsese women all die 'tragically young'. then you find that Borelli considers 98 to be 'tragically young'. He is not marrying the women, then either killing them or turning them. He marries them, then lives with them until they die of natural causes. He is also an utter failure in regards to cryptic clues - when the hero asks him for information he finds the book, opens it to the proper section, puts it in the opaque projector, and points out the important details.... Did I mention that he is a librarian?
Next up, Mighty Thor! (Hey, if you had to thwing thith thilly hammer, you'd be mighty thor too....) The Auld Grump |

Well, I saw the midnight showing of On Stranger Tides. Not much to do with the book, but was in fact far enough off that it can be considered something completely different that had a few points of similarity. Exactly one (1) trustworthy person in the entire film. Motivations that are not what they seem. A moment of redemption for Jack, but don't blink, it really is just a moment. The mermaids are worth the price of admission all by themselves. The best representation of the species that I have ever seen on film. And Blackbeard is Evil. Magic continues to be rare, but very powerful. The movie beat both Dylan Dog and Thor without breaking a sweat. Hopefully I have not given away too much. ![]() The Auld Grump |

I saw Priest last night. A very cool concept for a movie, but poorly executed. Fun to watch, though, and good entertainment. I enjoyed it, but I don't think it's worth seeing in the theater. I recommend renting it when it comes out. It was a really cool idea for a story, though ![]() |
