Yeah, that's one of the reasons I like it here, too; great group of people, great atmosphere - this forum just keeps attracting good folks.

And not only do we have the following as our number one forum one rule: 1. We're a friendly community Keep it that way - Always! , but we seem to never need to enforce it.

One of the other things that surprises me here is finding out how young some of the posters are - wish I'd been that mature when I was their age.

As for your beta forums. It's a damned shame when you have to put up crap like that to do what you enjoy. I must be getting older, but I don't stick around for that sort of stuff any more - if the people I'm around don't show respect for each other, then I'll just go and find some who do.

And I quit beta testing about 8 months ago, a. Time and quality of time spent, b. Got more involved developing a RPG Space Opera, c. Working for a Dev company made me want to go home and play instead of fix, d. money for connections speeds at home (I have dropped my Internet at home and just tether my Palm if needed), finally found this hobby which gives me actual product instead of vaporware.

The Porsche forum I belong to is normally very civil though there has been some rather rude comments, but for the most part they are well behaved as well, but I think the membership self control here should be the model for all forums.

I can only echo what has been said by others - this is one of the friendliest, if not THE friendliest forum around. Compared to some forums I could name but won't. this is a breath of fresh air. Long may it continue!

I'm always astonished at how pleasant and welcoming everyone is around here compared to the treatment you get out in the wilds on the internet. In the last 9 years, we've had very few incidents on the forums and all involved are more keen on helping out, sharing their love of the hobby and relaxing than they are posturing and fighting.

People who don't fit that mold tend not to last long because they know that the vast majority just won't put up with the drama. I would imagine there's a ton of lurkers who remain silent for just this reason.
