Okay, so it used to be Avalon on Lansdowne (behind Fenway), but the show was great with Death Before Dishonor and Against Me! opening. Dropkick Murphys put on a great show as usual, with classics like Barroom Hero, Kiss Me I'm S**tfaced, Field of Athenry, and Johnny I Hardly Knew Ya. They even had a great cover of Irish Rover. It was even better when Bruce Springsteen came out and played three songs with them: Peg o' My Heart, Badlands, and Shipping Up To Boston. He can still rock it! My only complaint was with the House of Blues management - we bought tickets but were limited to the second and third floors of the event - we could not go to the first floor! The tickets (we thought) were all GA and SRO, and we've been there for this exact show several times (under previous management). Anyone else have this happen to them at this spot? Anyone at the show last night? |
