I Think, not part of Alien Suns, now, they were part of it when Tony owned WgF. From what I have read on the WgF pages, WgF is planning on making Shocktrooper Heavy Weapon (or command not sure which), and are selling Shocktroopers. So from that I take it they have the rights to the Shocktroopers. Defience Games is working on both "French Foriegn legion" and USMC figures to fight the bugs. Based on that I don't think the shock troopers will be part of "new" Alien Suns range. Which on a personal side I am fine with, I very much disliked the look of the Shocktroopers, the armor was ok, but the heads, shoulder pads and weapons were so grossly out of proportion I didn't like them. WgF can keep the shocktroopers...I liked the stuff WgF via Tony/Tim came up with, not the "committee" aproach to the Shocktroopers from the L&UL which was too influenced by people who wanted them for stand ins for GW stuff, I don't like the look of a number of GW items either so they were no goes for me. |

I liked my orcs, I got them last week, and have been working away on them very happily. I was looking forward to the Amazons till i found out the head sprue i was interested in (and one of the PRIMARY things i wanted them for) were 1 per box, i don't want to make helmeted figures.. I liked WgF for the options and customization ability, which is right out with just one sprue of helmet-less heads.. Mantic could provide very nice static figures i liked WgF for the ability to make loads of odd stuff (beens mixing and matching parts from sets). Was going to go for the amazons, but might not anymore, wgf is lossing intest for me. One of the people rubs me the wrong way and just should not be thier spokesmen. He could have given out the same info in a different way and been far less abrasive about it. As it is, go there less and less and hit defiance more and more. |

Yeah, it does not speak well for the new company that they chose Lonnie as their spokesmonkey. Gods, he can't even keep scales straight. ![]() The only problem is that none of the models being displayed at Defiance interest me much. I had uses for the previous releases from WgF, but I really don't need bugs. It was fun watching each release get just a little better than the previous release - I have a bunch of their Brits, and trust me you notice quickly how much better the zombies were designed. I do kind of wish that I had preordered the orcs, but because of the long delay on the Shocktroops I put it off, and now I refuse to support the new owners. The orcs looked decent, but I suppose I can wait a while and get the Mantic orcs. The Auld Grump |

Long delays on the USMC figures - they just got the mold blocks (without gates) a few days ago. Detail looks good though - better than the WgF releases. So... Soon (TM)! (Soon meaning 3 to six months, I expect.) The Auld Grump |

Yeah I have been watching the company with interest, I was going to order a box of them (and likely the Germans if just for the heads), likely to use as a private army in my SW games, like a gang of thugs or pirates. but wasn't going to say anything about them until they were out due to the long long long delays. I am MUCH more interested in the Hudson Bugs, as they will fill in a gap for a long overdue species in my SW games. I am planning on putting them together "wrong" and making them into . I have been wanting to use that species for some time in my current SW game, and just have not been able to use the species as I can't find anything good to represent them. I have pushed back the end of the campaign by two months already waiting for these, I hope they are out soon. |

Now in my grubby li'l hands. ![]() The sculpts appear a lot crisper than the last time I looked at a WgF release. Good depth and clarity. *EDIT* Nope - those aren't wire stocks, they're solid. ![]() Otherwise, nice miniatures, with a very nice price. ![]() The Auld Grump |
