After the first adventure I ran for my girls, I started work on the next one. One of things I noticed is that encounter options are really limited for a small 1st level group. I decided to "re-skin" some monsters, basically changing the names while keeping the stats so the encounters could match my model collection. It is also dead easy to make three seperate encounters with cardstock ground tiles on 12"x12" boards. I am going for the 2D builds rather than full 3D due to time constraints. For the third adventure, I think I am finally going to use my Undercrypt, albeit in 2D. |

I use minichunk, and the kids love it. I find that its hard to build an encounter without the Adventure Tools. |

My latest discovery is that 15mm miniatures make great Haflings. I forsee various communities of Halflings being patrons and antagonists! I am also buying out Joann's and Michaels of their 1" and 3/4" wooden discs to use as bases for all of my quickly-finished minis so they match the D&D Minis reasonably well. |

*Embarrassed shuffle* For the tweens 'n' teens game I use an easel pad.... And the kids have started hanging them on the wall, with notations.... I have a horrible feeling that they are using the maps to illustrate war stories for their friends.... ![]() The Auld Grump, ye gods, what have I done?! *Starts sobbing uncontrollably.* ![]() |
