Perhaps you can start out with
While thse look kind of goofy, you can actually make some that are quite disturbing. For example, dye some twine in coffee, and sow the mouth and eyes shut.
For added fun, dress the dolly up in stained doll clothes, and glue some chicken bones where they can poke out of strategically placed tears.
Or, for a more traditional Yuletide look, dress in robes, and have a string of these shrunken heads worn as a belt, with a gold sickle close to hand. (Hey, I said 'traditional', but I didn't say who's tradition....)
Incidentally, Christmas is also big in some parts of Japan.
Complete with trees and holly jolly music.
