So I got a new HD TV, flat screen Can't remember the size now, I think 32". Anyways it has a PC Monitor plug in the back and I can now plug my little netbook into it and surf the internet and watch movies on the new Tele. I thought my 19" monitor was big! Now I just need to find a way of getting a long enough cord from my main PC (monitor and audio) to the new tele! Fallout 3 would never be the same again if I can get cords to reach that far! Now I'm going to go shopping for wireless keyboard and mouse! This could also mean some great fun for my RPG games! |

I think that may be a 70's thing... projection TVs were never that good, they were just the first attempt at getting a bigger picture. Regular NTSC at the time was also pretty poor. Off angle viewing was impossible, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_resolution DVD video quality is more than acceptable. An HD projector (720p which is better than DVD 480p which is better than NTSC 480i) does an awsome job, and I think you get a decent projector for $800-$1000US. Mine was $1200cdn including a spare bulb. Big TVs quickly hit those prices. I have a Sony 32" LCD TV and I love it, but the projector holds its own compared to that. Oh, and I'm just projecting on the wall. The only downside to a projector is the fan noise. (I'm doubly cursed since I'm at a high altitude, and I need the fan on a bit more.) I need to build a ceiling mount hush box one of these days. Generally though, I tend to watch movies with lots of loud action violence and CGI on the projector, so noise is less of a problem. ![]() |

Wow, I went looking to see if I could find a picture of that old 1970s era projection TV, found it the first place I saw on Google. ![]() The Advent Video Beam. ![]() Image from The best thing about the Advent was playing the Atari game on it. ![]() The Auld Grump |

I was watching online deals for a while for an LCD TV and ended up getting a 46" 120HZ Toshiba for $700 back in May. I couldn't be happier with it. Of course, after getting a nice TV you can't be satisfied with bland TV audio, so I got home theater system as well. ![]() |

I have a HDTV and don't care for it much. It is one of the things that I'll be pulling the plug on soon. |
