Good to see them *finally* switch to a full colour book, though - it was embarrassing to keep seeing an 80% b&w book with a 'colour section' when everyone else and their dog were publishing their rules in full colour. I guess $75 is the price for that though! Still, at 538 pages that's one chunky book.... Not sure whether I'm going to get on board or not...I bought into 7th and never played it (not once) during the 4 years it was out (which is somewhat less than the 6 year gap between 6th and 7th....). We shall have to see. |

Yeah, but I'm not sure about the army selection - Skaven and High Elves? High Elves, sure, but Skaven? It's a bit of a niche army.... |

Hmmm, I am not certain that KM would be that big a problem - while there is an added layer of complication that part is slower paced enough that the players will have time to grow into the rules at the same rate as their characters. In a weird way KM is a very old fashioned campaign model, with the PCs being the major active force in the direction the game takes. For some reason it reminds me of the old Judges Guild Wilderlands setting. I still prefer CotCT, but that is largely because I happen to think that CotCT is awesome! Plague, undead, shapechangers, twisted politics, a protagonist who isn't one of the PCS. (I want to add a scene or two where the heroes try to save the day, only to find that someone has beaten them to it. There is already one such scene in the campaign, *SPOILER* where the PCs get to see the protagonist rescue someone from the execution dock.*Spoiler*) The Auld Grump |
