Whoo hoo! The Wargames Factory is finally releasing their Greatcoat Infantry, now renamed Shock Troops. ![]() ![]() Actually, they look just a bit like the fellow seen at the end of the Fallout: New Vegas trailer.... Decent selection of weapons and heads, Shotgun, rifle, laser/energy weapon, flame thrower, grenade launcher, and pistol. There is also an offer of one package of Shock Troopers, and five packages of Zombies.... (24 Zombies per pack... that's a lot of zombies....) The Auld Grump |

I recall seeing a review of the prototype 3D print and they were VERY impressed with them in person. I can't wait to get my hands on these! Some day... |

Heh, 'Sarge is acting strangely....' While statting the Greatcoat Goons for Spycraft I was listening to the soundtrack from The Producers, bits from the Blues Brothers soundtrack, and Spike Jone's .... It is possible that my plans for them have shifted a bit.... The Auld Grump |

Well, 'soon' was not as soon as might have been hoped. But they are finally here, and I have begun putting together the first twenty of the blokes. A bunch of stuff showed up while I was off camping, this was one of them. Detail is noticeably better on this release, these will work just fine for the Kreigers. I statted them out for Spycraft, which is what I am using for Fallout games. My plan is to have 40 of them pretty soon - 20 recruits, and 20 storm troopers. Elites will use the same paintjob as the troopers, but the recruits will have a brown greatcoat whil\e the troopers where dark grey. Think of them as 'Enclave Lite'. The Auld Grump |

I have assembled and begun painting a round dozen of the troopers. Assembly is not difficult, though not as straightforward as I hoped - the arms have more play to them than the GW Space Marines. They may have been better served had they made the guns separate from the arms, in the manner of the GW Marines. Yeah, the urge to do a Squid Squad is there. (Or worse, a Sqid Squad - an entire unit of the likes of Sam Starfall....) The Auld Grump |
