Saw this linked over at and thought I had seen it here, but must have hallucinated. Anyway, its meant to be a community project to make a wargame that is free for any and all to use and adapt as they see fit. Will have a generic core so that it can be used for anything, but will have a few settings worked out and tested by the community. Their forum can be found . |

This will be interesting to watch, especially with all the hoopla GW's been putting forth with their C&D orders and their claim that they are protecting their IP. There are so many free rulesets out there, what makes this so special? Can you really "open source" a game? I do hope it succeeds and I hope that there is enough player participation that it takes off and flies high! I have not read the license (if there even is one yet) but hopefully it will allow companies like WWG to create their own plug ins that they can then bundle with their terrain sets.
