Thanks...that was the idea...make a VPN and try to use Chat... my main concern not was use diferent versions as diferents releases... I don't want to start a game and found that one is higher than other because has udpdated and have to wait till is all in the same 2.XX...

I'll keep looking at it and see if it's a good buy or not... as per use offline is because I end with a lot of books over the table back of the DM screen so I can have all the information in FG2 and pdf's in the computer...

At least I've bought it - a full licence and the Savage world 3... I will toy with it and see if I cand convice my group to buy a lite for everyone...

I am a FG user. I currently play in a 3.5 D&D game that is chat only that has been running for 2 years and host a WFRP game that uses Ventrillo which has been going for almost a year. There is no need for a VPN if you have access to your router to open up the FG Port and map incoming traffic. Everyone needs to have the same version and patch level. Before you host or connect, everyone should check for the latest updates. This is especially important when it is a ruleset, not the client that is updated. The host is the only one that has to own the ruleset.

I also use FG on a laptop connected to a projector for some face-to-face games. Works great when running games at conventions or where space is limited.

I have been using FG for about 5 years. The program has come a long way. I cannot recommend it highly enough. There are some gaps that it is lacking, but I still game with people that I have gamed with in the past 3 cities and the other country where I lived. Not to sound too much like a Master Card commercial, but that is priceless.

I have bought the basic for now and the Savage world rules...as I want to test it before to know if I'll feel confortable doing a session offline...but if not I'll use it as a holder for maps, text and information to use while I play...so I'll begin to take of the table the 4 or 5 books that I usually have and have only the laptop....

What I belive it lack is a proper or medium decent instruction pdfs...yes...there's a quite good forum and online instructions...and a few videos...but I supose there're a lot of options that I don't know how they work...

Be sure to read the doc that there are. Watch the videos. I still find an occasional feature every now and them that I had no idea was there. There are some real oddities like - to re-size a token on the map, you have to hover over the corresponding token in the combat tracker and use the scroll wheel on your mouse - that you will have to get used to. I don't have any real suggestions other than the first couple of times that you use the program, make sure you have checked all your maps within the program. I would also go ahead and size them and their grids ahead of time. There are tons of good sites dedicated to FG. If you haven't be sure to check out:
