I am new to WWG (both the forums and products) so I may have missed the conversation on this topic (didn't see it immediately). In fact it was on a lark I was browsing on the web page on Sep 1, saw the TerrainLinx products and immediately purchased it.

I run a 4E D&D group, and my question is about the grid lines. Due his wife's military commitment, one of my players is in Japan while we are in the US. We have continued to play using webcams so far with success using a Chessex Battlement.

But I would like to start using some WWG terrain. The problem is over the webcam it is hard to see the grid lines. Has there ever been consideration of having the grid lines show up with more contrast.

Barring that is a software product that is low cost to add more contrasting grid lines to the pdf files.

This is funny because WWG goes to great lengths to hide and disguise it's grid lines because most gamers consider them somewhat unsightly. That said, I totally understand your need for darker lines. What if you use a large format ruler in sight to make it a little easier to estimate scale? Otherwise I would try one of CCOTDs suggestions.

I would use GIMP or Paint.NET (free gfx programs) and drop in some bright green, pink, white, or other high contrast color lines right ontop of the gridlines.

If you have Photoshop and are pretty good with it you can actually make a texture of a grid then just lay that down so the process is much faster. That way you don't have to trace every line. If you're having troubles getting your grid texture to line up with the dark grids then just start with the gridless files and lay your own grid on top of it using your bright color.

A more manual approach would be a straight edge and a marker. However it's hard to find a marker with a bright color that you would see on top of the dark textures. They make 'paint pens' in colors like white. Works like a pen but actually puts paint down. That's a lot of work though; I'd only go this route if you absolutely have no idea how to use any gfx program.
