Post subject: | Napoleon In Egypt - Song of Drums And Shakos |
OK, so here are the two forces I painted up for Song of Drums and Shakos, representing Napoleon's expedition to Egypt. They are displayed on my Egypt terrain, using some buildings from the competition (no middle eastern stuff from WWG, sorry) some palm trees from Skull Cove, a few pyramids I found on an educational site, and a board with my own desert texture (which I am really not happy with and may have to redo at some point.) Anyways, first up are the French, including an Officer, a Porte-Fanion, 2 Sappers, 4 Carabiniers, and 6 Line Grenadiers. One of the Carabiniers has a cockade rather than the floppy red horsehair thing (a mistake from the vendor) so I am using him as a Light Infantry NCO. Next up are the Ottomans. Now, I went ahead and did as much research on my own as I could regarding their uniforms, but after I finished them I found out that these uniforms are more in keeping with 200 years before the era they are supposed to represent. OOPS! First up are 3 Sipahis, followed by 5 Janissaries including an Officer, and finally 5 Rayas including an NCO. I have another Janissary, another Raya, and 2 Sappers, but they weren't quite finished when I took the pics. |
