I just purchased a bunch of magnets for the purpose of making my Tau Empire Crisis Suits more modular. You can read about it at Enjoy and let me know what you think. |

Its a great idea. I did it years ago to my Warhammer Orc army. The things I found out: They work GREAT for plastic but not so great for metal. Build Time is a LOT longer. Learn to work green stuff because mistakes happen and they are going to need repairing. Setup the magnet pivot point and check before making the mod. If you use a magnet mod on a model with heavy sided or unbalanced weapons, they can swing down like a pendulum. Make sure the model doesn't look retarded if the weapon alignment changes due to this action. Have fun! It's really neat to show off those kinds of mods and have other people say ooooh and aaahhhh when you show up for a match. Pride in models is a great thing to have. |

I just finished doing this to my Crisis Suits and now I'm doing it to the head of my great big nid ( I forget the name) so I can do head swaps. I'm now even thinking of ways to incorporate magnets into terrain. |

I've already done this with another game and it does work just fine. Use small strong rare earth magnets. Also good for holding on bits of gray shaded cotton (smoke from damage). Now what I'd really like is to layer my mini chunk with velcro down, and metal just under the paper. Then my miniatues could stick to the terrain, and my terrain would stick to master board... |
