Smith and Tinker just announced a reboot of the Mechwarrior franchise. They're setting this new game in 3015, before the Clan invasion, during the 3rd Succession war. Most of humanity has been bombed back to the Stone Age and mechs are very rare. Most who have a mech are nobility of some kind. Heh - I am not a big fan of Mechwarrior/Battletech (even though I played Battletech so far back that it was titled 'Battledroids'  ).
I will say, however, that seeing an Atlas that close is not something that you want to have happen. At close range you will be a pile of scrap, or a glowing crater.... The Auld Grump |

I just posted the news on . Check it out anyways because there is news about how you can get MechWarrior 4 and all of its expansions for free, legally. It is a gift from Smith & Tinker. |

So far as I know, MekTek is planning to release Mechwarrior IV as one huge download on BitTorrent that includes everything: Vengeance, Black Knight, Mercenaries, both mech packs, and three MetTek mech packs. They're still working on a fourth. |

Great video but the pilot of the Warhammer is an idiot. The Atlas has the easiest head to hit. And no mech has more than 12 total points of damage in the head counting armor and internal structure. Each PPC does 10 points of damage and the Warhammer has 2 PPC's. Add in the fact that the cockpit is up there and that Atlas would be hosed. I should know, in every other Mechwarrior videogame where the Atlas appears, that was the quickest way to kill them. Fire Both PPC's into any mech's head and POOF! no more foe, and a large chunk of easy salvage. |
