In my opinion, microsoft wins over all With metal gear coming to xbox, and their new project natal I think they'll rule this year It was hilarious how stupid the motion control ps3 thing looked after seeing the natal! |

The way I see it - Project Natal will be the death keen of movies as we know it, maybe tv shows in general. I mean I am talking 10 + years but I think that this is the way that entertainment will shift. Sony's new motion controllers will rock - plain and simple. I wonder what combos will occur with the eyetoy thing and these - I mean the camera already is out there so if it's tracking you and your body and your controllers then it's almost a complete picture. Sony also have the graphic edge over the other two. Lord Abaddon of Wormwood |

Look for a hands on with OnLive. Sounds good, but REQUIRES a 4MB connection. ![]() Will be interesting to see what happens with this, but I can't use it with my DSL. On another note, nothing exciting from E3 today at all for me. FFXIV is officially NOT exclusive to the PS3, though. Its just another timed thing as usual. |

I want to believe in Natal, but I just don't trust Molyneux to deliver on his ambitious promises. I mean, I really admire the guy and think he's a visionary, but every single game-changing thing he's ever promised has eventually turned out to be well below his stated goals. Also, I don't see movies and TV ever going away. There's a huge difference between interactive and passive entertainment and I think passive will always and forever be bigger than interactive, just like more people listen to music than play it. If Natal is even half of what Molyneux's demo showed, it'll change the gaming world quite a bit, that much is certain, but I don't think it has the power to make interactive overtake passive for the majority of people. |

Well, I don't think the Wii-alike aspect is the really groundbreaking thing at all. It's the voice and face recognition and the controllerless interface. I can see a multitude of applications outside of Wii Sports and EyeToy imitations, uses that make certain types of game play more intuitive and personal. Things where you're still sitting on the couch, but use simple gestures, voice commands and even facial expressions to communicate with the game. That may not look as impressive for an E3 demo, but it has potential to be truly transformative for some types of games if it's harnessed and leveraged correctly by the game studios. Yes, the first Natal games will probably be general Wii clones, but that's because MS wants to undermine Nintendo market share first of all, but once it goes beyond the first flush of novelty and becomes something game designers use as a tool to think up new ways to play (rather than grafting the technology onto already existing genres and games), I actually think it could lead to some really, really interesting stuff. Also, the very nature of this setup makes it seem to me to have much greater accuracy than the Wii controllers. Then again, I'm nothing if not an optimist. |

I had almost forgot about but that video made me remember REAL fast. Also looking forward to Monster Hunter 3. Never got to play the old ones as I don't have a PSP and my PS2 was never hooked up to the 'net. I may have to remedy that and give the old one a spin. |

Sony had great games showing, but their entire hardware presentation on the PS3 was disappointing. Their focus was primarily on the handheld market, and you could see it. The PS3 was treated like, "Here's our casual gaming ideas to compete with the Wii and Microsoft, but we're mostly never going to drop the price and never going to innovate, so bleh to you PS3 fans." |
