Hmmm, about man size then? As opposed to the much larger gnoll figures out there, such as the ones for Reaper.... Your best bet is still gnoll miniatures, but there are some that are about man sized, maybe a hair bigger, and at least one that is actually a shade smaller than current human figures. If you can find them, the old Ral Partha gnolls are about the proper size - too small for a gnoll in current scale. The box set was named Harag Skullcrusher & His Gnoll Raiders. Julie Guthrie's 'knoll champion' for Grenadier - I think that you can still find that one around for about three dollars, actually a trifle smaller than current human minis. *EDIT* Yep - available from Megaminis.com under the name 'knoll champion', for $1.50. Image from Stuff of Legends. I 'corrected' the spelling above to match the catalog. Hasslefree has a few that are halfway between Reaper gnoll and human size. Hmmm, a head swap seems like a possibility - take a werewolf body to start with, add a gnoll head, and doctor the tail. Actually, come to think of it - there's a possibility that would only involve changing the ears and adding a ridge (both very easy) that comes to mind - Moor Hound - Reaper Dark Heaven 02817 The Auld Grump |
