Heh - folks have been doing some gorgeous steampunk computers.
This is one of the more extreme examples, but my favorite is the one with actual typewriter keys for the keyboard. (An ergonomic nightmare!

That is the the, MOST INGENIUS, ART I have seen in many, many years!!!!!! Absolutely fantastic!!!! I could look at such work and find new wonders in it over and over. It is beautiful, so very beautiful. I can't get over it. Thunderstruck, in a word. You need a gallery showing!!! |

Oh my, where have I been to have missed such art for years. The last exciting sculpture work in this vein I witnessed was over 30 years ago. I remember the place, meeting and speaking with the artist, and not having been able to take the opportunity to buy a piece of the young man's work. I will never forget that piece either. I just get so excited when seeing work such as that. It has a pulse to it ... something very special. I hope there is someone out there who will bring this 'steampunk' sculpture into galleries, if it hasn't found its way there yet. Anyway, I must investigate this 'steampunk' stuff more. |

Great list ... my top four: Steampunk Mouse Nathans Amberic Array Violin The Villanizer Guitar Steampunk Lantern The writer nailed it ... fan made gadgets can indeed rise to a high level of art. I am so taken by this stuff. Thanks for the link to this list. |
