I've recently been playing pirates again, and the experience has really driven home the game's need for a grid. Now I heard other people mention having done grided rules for it. I think the European version is even suppose to have come with such maps. But I haven't been able to find those rules or maps online.

Does anyone have such maps or rules, or have any links for them?

I'd really like to have them in time to bring to my family gathering for Christmas.

That definitely helps, but its not quite what I'm looking for. Its more of an alternative game then a measurement aid, although it is an interesting alternative game I will be trying.

I guess I really want a copy of the European rules and mat. I'm considering bringing pirates stuff as a gift for several of my younger relatives. And I want to keep the original game's simplicity. Just with a little less arguing over that last 1/16" distance.

It just surprises me that I cannot find any copies of any of the European stuff online, not even any pictures. I really thought that there would be some members here that had played the other version.

Are you 100% sure where can be found that map ? in wich pack in Europe... I've not played but I supose I could find someplace cheap and find a way to make arrive it to you !

I've seen several reviews, including this Teaflax's link, mention that the European version comes with a gridded playmat in every pack. But I haven't seen any official information from wizkids, so I don't know which countries got the European version.

Now I'm not really looking to get an actual pack in the mail, the shipping would be too expensive. The rules text alone with probably be enough, certainly an email with the text and a jpeg of the map would do. If you come across a pack for a couple dollars US let me know and I can paypal the money if you can send me a scan of the rules and map. Look around though, here they used to go for around $4 in store, but since wizkids closed I get them online for $1, less if I buy in bulk. You could keep the actual pieces and see if you liked the game.

I found it ! - and the worst is that it was in my home ...in an unopened pack... It's the French version (As I from time to time make orders to Ludikbaar.com and they use to trown inside games that they have overstock to make me bite the trap...sometime I've done)... So searching for the Halo rules -that I know that I have- I found that pirates map - wich I'd no idea I had-...

So if you PM me your direcction I could try -when life goes back to normal- to see if I can make it arrive to you...if not I'll try to scan it...but it's quite big for that...
