I honestly can't see the MMO doing well. The book is too much about relationships and political intrigue to translate well to an MMO.

As for a movie... I think the plan was to make the first book into a movie... The whole series is just too much to do in even two or three movies.... And again the political stuff in the later books I would guess would not translate well to the big screen.
