I found some fairly inexpensive unpainted plastic British infantry from - 20 infantry for $15 US. Intended for battling Zulus these are going to very handy for my 1880s steampunk games.
You can even find them discounted at places like The Warstore.
They are also coming out with Romans and Celts - the latter will be nice for a scenario I have planned that will involve painting a mess o' Celts in ghostly hues. In a world where magic happens it may not be the best idea to disturb an old barrow hill.
The Romans are 48 infantry for $30.
I just ordered a box o' Brits - I will likely use them if I can ever get my Jewel in the Crown campaign arc started. (The Great Game between Russia and the British, with India as both board and prize.)
