Post subject: | Planning out a WWII Castle Ravenloft |
I am converting Expedition to Castle Ravenloft to Spycraft, and changing the period to WWII - the Reich having made a deal with the Graff in neighboring Barovia, creating of him Generaloberst Strahd von Zarovitch Grava Barovia. (If anyone has corrections to my German in this instance please let me know. My only German is dimly remembered from a course in Technical German thirty years ago. It doesn't help that his name seems to be a mixture of Russian, Romanian, and German....) I will likely be simplifying the floorplans so that I can use CWU and Cathedral Noctis to make the castle. Miniatures are being ordered tonight, and include these fine fellows from Reaper - For the Strahd zombies - because SS zombies with guns ought to be loads of fun and from Gamezone - Because who could resist those puppy dog eyes? ![]() The Auld Grump, who'd Daddy's widdle thwoat wipping killing machines? I am torn between having Strahd in his SS uniform, and going for a more Gothic the, such as (warning, semi-draped fae/undead beyond). I think that I will look for the SS Strahd, by preference. Depending on when and how they encounter him, both are possibilities. The Auld Grump |

Okay, rather than Hallowe'en I am putting this project off until Fantasycraft becomes available - it will give me more time, and make my life just a little bit easier. I will most likely run with pregenerated characters, and after watching Hellboy (again) I really want to have a British occult specialist with the team - this figure looks just about perfect for the role: WWII British Military Druid... miniature by Darkson Designs. ![]() I also begin to suspect that if I even want to pretend that this will be done in a reasonable time frame I will have to go with a 2.5D setup - the Castle of Ravenloft is 'uge.
