Despite my hatred of collectible games I am tempted by this one, probably because I really don't care what monsters are attacking the City of Townsville.

Played it at PAX and actually got some PAX only preview boxes. This is a great game and I really enjoyed playing it. It's a great "rainy day, don't feel like breakin' out the army" type game. I liked it so much I went through the Demo TWICE! Only drawback I see is the Collectible part. Wish PP would change that. There's not that many units and monsters coming out so don't see why not. Oh well, I'll definately be getting crates full and then ebaying what I don't want. CCotD' |

I really enjoyed the demo at PAX as well, and funnily enough, played it twice. Before you go ebaying anything, check your email. I'm focusing on two factions initially and hopefully can buy or trade for some of your spares. I don't mind the random unit boosters so much, but the monster randomness is kind of annoying. $13 for a random monster, of which there are only 6. Granted, you also get it's matching hyper form, but if I want one in particular, I'm gonna head to ebay, not buy the booster. I think laminating the double sided map might be a good idea. Any ideas on how much that would cost at Kinko's or somewhere? Arabin |

Got to demo and really liked the game. They were out of starters when I got there early afternoon Sunday, though. Really wish I had hit it Saturday like I was hoping. On the other hand, my boosters were excellent. My monster is Terra Khan with Ultra Terra Khan which goes great with the Mega Terra Khan they were giving out. All three fit easily back into the booster box, too. On the support side, I got Downtown Highrise, Spikodon of the Terrasaurs, Shadow Gate of the Shadowsun, Spitter of Cthul, and a G-Tank of GUARD. Funny I actually got a Terrasaur support to go with Terra Khan. Lucky I guess! |

Have you seen the that was posted on the Tabletop Gaming News today? CCotD how many boosters did you buy? Do you think that four of each and one starter would give you enough? Of course if the game sucked in my eyes after getting some I would be very happy to use the figs for either Giant Monster Rampage or Monster Island. Would Mayhem be too small at 1/1000th? I only got 2 starter sets. My buddy Neil kept trying to get me to go to the PP Booth once he found out you could get them, but I was being pulled in so many different directions by both the MRS and the BIG's that I never got by there again.

Tyler nice review - covered all bases but at the same time easy flowing read. Guys what is the building base size - not the base that the building sits on but the actual footprint base. Millimeters would be sexier than inches at this scale Lord Abaddon of Wormwood |

I have been re-building this MonPoc map (the one from the site): With the Mayhem and some reworking for things that did not exist in the sets (power points and so on). It still needs the obstacles added: I just realized the perspective is a little funky, but it should get the idea across. One reason I was going through the effort of remaking the map is to add scaled down versions of the buildings as well, which I have done and will just need to build them... which will be some time before I can do so. Thoughts? |

i think the best supplement material world works could do for this game is actually put a definable scale to the map and any extra buildings, currently the games miniatures are not to any scale (just what looks nice) but having a scale environment would be very nice. |

We had our release day Tournament at the local shop last Saturday. I must admit that I was resistent at first to get into this, but after seeing a demo I must say that I am well and truely hooked!! I'm not really into pre-paints, and the whole collectable thang ain't for me, but I must admit that this game is the exception. Sooo much fun 
Gorghadra of the Planet Eaters won the tournament for me, and I received Mega-Defender X as the prize..... which was a bit of a blow since the other two Mega monsters in the Retailer Lauch pack were for monsters I actually have  ...... never mind I can always trade it later if someone else wins the next tournament!!
Pros - Great fun to play - Easy to learn - Only need a Starter Box to play - Looks great on the table (of course WWG stuff can only make it look even better LOL) - Great support from PP for brick-and-mortar shops - Nice prizes for official events Cons - Collectible (hence the luck factor when ripping open the box) - Some of the paint jobs ain't the best you'll see - Check the boxes before leaving the shop for correct quantities of items and damaged parts (we had a starter box with no units and a starter box with a Shadowsun Monster with a broken arm on Saturday) Very highly recommended. |

Funny as in "haha" or 'weird' funny?? LOL I must admit to being hooked..... Where else can you play a game where you get benefits from destroying buildings, have a Flying Saucer Body Slamming a Dinosaur, or watch Cthulhu play baseball with Robot Ninja?? I haven't felt this hyped about a game since I first discovered RPGs
