It is pretty cool. Too bad the price is so scary. |

I saw this thing is person at GenCon. Given the woods alone costs over $1,500.00, the craftmanship of the piece is undeniable and they could probably sell it for lmore. A comparable dining room table would run that much at least. I know my wife was randomly looking at similar "heirloom" furniture. I want one and maybe I will buy one in the next ten years. Dare to dream. ![]() Joey |

A piece like that just shouldn't be shoved into the basement. SO, I would need to build an addition on to the house to put this in... Probably a nice library with lots of hardwood shelves to display all the gaming books/items. Lets see: 200K for the addition 10K for the table. ------------------- 210K Total cost for what can be done on the kitchen table. Nope don't think this is happening soon. ![]() Now if someone wants to hand me a winning lotto ticket, I'll be more then happy to do this and post pictures for you all to see ![]() |

It is incredible. When I was young I was dreaming of things like that. To have my own room of games perfectly enabled to play with my friends. But on having seen this ... I do not change the nights assembled in a small room sharing dice, pencils and fighting for every centimeter of space in the table ![]() ![]() |

Since I probably am commissioning a new dinner table, I think I might just take som cues from this thing... |

The problem I tend to have with this kind of setup is the player isolation. Yes, everyone gets their own little space but you don't 'see' what the player is doing. We've had some problems with cheaters in the past so that's one obvious problem. But the other is that I could see a lot of the social interaction being lost if a couple of players are more interested in what they have on their station than what's going on with the game. We have that now when we're on a flat table but it's more obvious. "Bill, put the Gameboy away." "Matt, stop texting." "Paul, stop reading splat books while you're involved in a RP section." Without being able to see these things it's much harder to correct bad behaviors. That and we've already got two dining room tables so trying to convince the spouse that we need a third table could be a bit tricky. |

*Sigh* Even if I had the money I doubt that I would be able to convince myself to buy The Sultan. ![]() Not because it is not worth the money - it likely is, that is one handsome piece of furniture. But rather because I am too much of a cheapskate at heart. Damn that is nice looking though. The Auld Grump, if I had a million dollars (if I had a million dollars).... |

I must say that this is one of those features that you would plan a new home around or at least encompass in the design. Me... I would get one or mores the point have someone over here commissioned to make one for me. I would also say that I would buy a smaller version - say coffee table size for smaller board games / wargames and RPG sessions. It does have a certain cool factor to it. Lord Abaddon of Wormwood |
