Not me. I only have time for one MMO at a time, and LOTRO has me hooked still. Arabin |

That sounds a bit like Freelancer, but without the MMO part. Cool game. Arabin |

I've played Eve in two stints, but I just don't have the time and energy to play it in a way that makes it genuinely rewarding. If I had three months off and no other commitments at all, I might immerse myself in it, but - for me at least - I don't get much out of it in casual play. Right now I'm back in City of Villains which just keep getting better with each update. Issue 13 is coming up and looks like it'll be the best one yet. I'm on the Union server (Europe) with main chat handle Teaflax if anyone wants to hit me up. |

I really wanted Matrix: Online to work, but I never actually got around to playing it... which I guess didn't help. Here is my list isn't, of what I can remember off the top of my head: Meridian 59, Ultima Online, Everquest, Asheron's Call, Asheron's Call 2, Dark Age of Camelot, Neocron, Star Wars: Galaxies (original), Anarchy Online, City of Heroes/Villains, D&D Online, Guildwars, Pirates of the Burning Sea (beta only - it sucked), Tabula Rasa (beta only - it sucked), World or Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online. I have played a whole bunch of other free ones, which aren't worth mentioning in detail. City of Heroes/Villains has the best character creation tool so far, and I would spend as much time creating new characters as playing the game. The game has lots of flaws... but was a lot of fun, and the character creation almost enough to keep me entertained for a while. I ended up running a guild for a while, based on Judge Dredd. Had a lot of fun. End of the day, I think Cryptic have the potential to do a good MMO. Didn't Cryptic make that post apocalyptic car racing MMO that flopped? Auto... something or other. I played the beta, and it had potential, but suffered from insane lag. Never been a huge Star Trek fan though, so I won't be watching this one. I was interested in The Agency until I saw it was SOE, which I avoid like the plague these days. The only announced MMO coming up that I have any interest in is KOTOR Online, and maybe Fallen Earth. Melliphron, I agree. I actually enjoyed the original SWG, despite the bugs, the unfinished parts, and the empty feeling you got in a lot of locations. The heavy handed deleted on any post that complained about anything... and then to constant overhauls to things, because they felt like it, ticked me off. For an MMO, you are asking people to dedicate an awful lot of time to your product, and prior to the lifetime sub offered by LOTRO, an awful lot of cash as well. For that, there needs to be a sense of belonging, having an effect on the world, and being heard, even if your ideas aren't implemented (which is usually a good thing). DAoC created a real sense of community, as did Asheron's Call. I still think that AC did the best job of moving the world forwards, with monthly updates, and they weren't afraid to destroy towns (to help with lag spots) in a story driven way. LOTRO updates have so far been every 2 months or so, and they have added a lot to the game. Arabin |

I quite enjoyed the DS9 game where you could play it as Kira, Worf or Sisko...Harbinger, was it? I don't recall. Then again, I am a huge DS9 fanboy - much more than I am about any of the other franchises.e |

4 years, nice! What ships are you flying? So far I'm working on command ships and possibly getting wing command to 4 later. |

My main is a combat pilot and flights Caldari and Gallente ships: - T2 Frigs (Interceptors, Electronic Attack Ships, Stealth Bombers, Assault Frigates). - T2 Cruisers (HACs, HICs, Logistics, Recons). I'm now training for capital ships (gallente dreads) and I have half-done Battlecruisers V for Command Ships, but those ships are pretty expensive so not sure when I'll finish BC V (it's not in my priority list, I need like 80-90 days to use Dreads and some capital modules ![]() My alt is a mining guy (it has only been around for some months): - Exhumers and pretty soon he will flight also Freighters. The Hulk is a mining god, he is starting to pay most of the ships the main char is losing :p |

I hear ya. My main has carriers 4 already, and I should have said working on command ship V, but I currently diverted from it to train information warfare specialist to V. only 20 hrs till I can plug in the stupid mod for info war that will give me 50% more to gang bonuses. ![]() My alt is also a hulk pilot and does some invention. So far I made a 4 nighthawk run. I have yet to build the stupid thing because of wardecs and I took some time off. So losing a carrier and making a 4 nighthawk run has the only thing memorable as of late. But the most memorable thing for me was getting camped in a dead end system for a week. I got left behind with some of the stragglers and got bottled up good. Wow that was a good time, no node crash when we had a 100 on 100 fight, laggy as hell but no crash. God the north was a warzone ![]() |

Yeah, Yahtzee from really lambasted EVE Online yesterday. There are things I agree on, but he sold the game short because the corporations/factions are what drive the game and make it better IMO. But I entirely understand the "second job" thing. I quit EVE because it did become a second job. Cryptic has done a LOT of stuff. And they are doing the present Champions MMO. And the Star Trek Online game. They didn't do the flopped car game. That was NCSoft's doing. They started work on it, and it got pushed to another developer late before release. Cryptic was working at making Champions when they were working on CoH/V. However, due to NCSoft interferring all the damn time, they were prohibited from making it better than it could be. I have to say that City of H/V has improved immensely since NCSoft just got a new group of devs to work on the game, since there's no more fudging crap like there used to be. |

Hehe, Yahtzee review are always pretty fun, even if they bash your favorite games. I think he hits a lot of the bad points of Eve, and probably if you only play the 14 days trial you are going to end with a similar oppinion. The game shines when you have been playing at least 2-3 months (or if you have a friend that can lend you some money at the start). |

I have to agree, the game really blossoms when you get in to the politics of it. When I first started, the game seemed empty to me, that is until I got into my first corp and then into my first war. But were I really started having fun was when I got into 0.0 (lawless space). |
