WotC is officially on their much hyped Gleemax in September. In theory this is so they can concentrate their efforts on the (much delayed) Digital Initiative for D&D. I have the strange feeling that the Fonz is on his bike, revving his engine as a shark is released into the water.... The Auld Grump |

I'm actually not bothered by this... Gleemax has always seemed to me to be no more then a glorified message board. If they can actually come up with a way to play a "Good" RPG online, that's worth much more to me. Of course doing an a user controlled online RPG right is a huge development effort, but would seem to me to have a much bigger payback.... The closest I think we've seen was Neverwinter Nights, and look how long that took to develop. So focusing all their efforts on getting it done "Right" is not a bad thing. Of course that assumes they can actually do this "right" and that is by no means assured. |
